Pre-Prep Department
Nursery, Reception and Years 1 and 2
Brandeston Hall Pre-Prep Department is made up of the Foundation Stage and Key Stage One, nurturing children from 2 ½ years through to 7 years old. Children are cared for and stimulated in a purpose built, well-resourced and welcoming Pre-Prep complex. The classrooms are colourful and cheerful and the outdoor play areas are secure and safe.

Curriculum
Children arrive with a variety of different experiences, skills and interests and continue to learn through active play. The next stage from the Nursery is a move to the Reception class and children start this academic year in the September prior to their 5th birthday. Children are 5 years old when they move into Year One and 6 years old when they arrive at the portals of Year Two. It is important to us to ensure the children have a happy time and the learning undertaken is exciting and well balanced.
Teaching is practical; the emphasis is focused on English and Maths, with breadth being provided by the Humanities, Games and Physical Education, Information & Communication Technology, Design & Technology, French and Music. Trips take place throughout the year and visitors come into our classes to develop the children's sense of the wider world and our place within it. We always offer excellent staffing ratios. Our teachers and nursery nurses ensure that the children are shown affection and care and are given many opportunities to develop their independence in a supported way. At Brandeston Hall Pre-Prep, we aim to instil the children with a love of learning which they will carry with them as they progress through the School.
