Productions

The earliest drama production may begin with a nativity play in pre-prep, but opportunities continue at every stage up to a pupil's final year.  Performing on stage is an integral part of a young person's development and there is no shortage of willing volunteers at Brandeston Hall. Productions take place in the purpose built Rowley Hall and in the open air.  However, we will soon be using the newly opened Headmaster Porter Theatre at the senior school.

Recent junior productions have included "Jungle Book" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".   The seniors have recently entertained audiences with their interpretation of "The Vackees", "Pirates of Penzance" and "Macbeth".  In addition to these highly popular musicals and plays the Year 6 have an annual open air production known as The History of Shakespeare which involves performing a range of extracts and soliloquies from a variety of the most popular plays every summer.

It is important to note that a host of youngsters also help with backstage operations, sound, costumes and lighting. Also we regularly invite "Splats" and their "Play for a Day" into the school so that pupils can experiment with impromptu performances.
