The aims of the CCF are to foster qualities of self-reliance, leadership, responsibility and a sense of public purpose with an awareness of the functions of the armed forces in the maintenance of peace. It also offers a Service for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award as well as offering experience to any who may be considering a Service career. There is a great emphasis these days on adventure training activities and the College has been keen to exploit this to the full. The CCF at Framlingham is voluntary and just under half of the College are members. Cadets in the RN, RAF and Army enjoy a basic training programme that includes a general Service knowledge, together with theoretical and practical seamanship, airmanship and relevant army activities. Training takes place once a week and over the course of a Field Weekend every term. In addition, cadets can attend annual camps and courses offered through the MOD. |

RAF cadets enjoy accumulating gliding and flying hours and numerous cadets have been awarded Gliding and Flying Scholarships. Army cadets take can attend a plethora of courses from skiing to first-aid.

Cadets from any section can take part in competitive shooting against other schools, clubs and contingents. The contingent has its own indoor range and open ranges are within easy striking distance. The annual shooting camp at Bisley is well attended and the College has a high reputation in this field. Cadets have gone on to shoot for Suffolk and for Great Britain. |
